Aber Falls Snowdonia National Park Archaeology Event. On the 25th and 26th July we were at Abergwyngregyn, working alongside Dave Chapman of Ancient Arts.
http://www.ancient-arts.orgUnder the supervision of Snowdonia National Park
Authority Archaeologist, John Griffith Roberts, and the auspices of
Tirwedd Dyffryn Aber cyf, a band of local volunteers and students from
Bangor University were uncovering several thousand years of history.
An Iron Age roundhouse sits on top of a Bronze Age burial and standing stone and on top sits a medieval grain drying kiln. The setting for our encampment was wonderful and we met hundreds of friendly people from all over the world. Alonside our display of everyday items and weaponry, we prepared and cooked a rabbit and dressed both adults and children in armour. It was also a great opportunity to discuss Welsh medieval life with the history students.
